fuel gauge question
 

Curious about where to start.
Gauge reads 1/2 when tank is full, falls to 0 as tank empties. Its accurate at empty, it just never goes higher than 1/2 full. Electrical? or mechanical?

Mine has different behaviour.

When tank is full, gauge reads full, but then drops fairly quickly to empty as the tank drops to about 1/2 full. It then comes back up to about 1/2 way and falls to empty as the tank empties.

I just use my trip meter.
Pretty consistent 500km from a tank.
