O/T Sgt Pennington returning from Baghdad

My wife recently sent the following to nearly everyone in her add. book. I still can't believe the help we got when my sister-in-law was in the internet weight loss competition (she won - handily - $1000.00). If you'd like to participate in this (no pressure), kudos to ya!

Corrie is planning a Welcome Home Card Shower for Lee. He was sent to Kuwait in January and has been in Iraq since March.
Rumor has it that he will get to come home in June. Corrie wants to have as many welcome home cards as possible waiting for him we he does. He was promoted while in Iraq and is now a Sergeant. Please send all cards to the following address:

SGT. PARIS LEE PENNINGTON JR
7065-D NAKTONG CIRCLE
FORT STEWART, GA 31315

Thank you for your help.
Proud Mother-In-Law
Sharon Wasion

And thanks to our family of SVXers. :)

still thinking there's time on this

I know that we all have friends that served our country, and these folks went through a lot more than we will ever hear about.

Sitting here in our safe (more or less) world away from where the threat of a wayward bomb or waves of suicide bombers exist you can't quite understand how much a large homecoming means to these people.

Please try to take the time to pick out a card and mail it to this family. You can't imagine what an impact it will have on him.

Thanks

Thanks Mitch.
Yeah, there's time.
The last word we got was sometime in June or July. We probably won't know exactly until just at the last minute.

He's a changed person, for sure. One of his best friends died in his arms the second day in-country. Then, after what seemed like months (though it was really only days) of all-out warfare, they had to change course overnight to become compassionate caregivers and peacekeepers. He loves the people of Iraq, and they in turn, really seem to love their liberators. (Yeah, I know. Wait a year and then we'll see.) In talking to him, or reading his letters, you can tell that he's been through a few life-altering events.

And I don't mean this as a dig Mitch (well, maybe just a little one - you know me), but he says he's especially thankful for knowing that, either way, life or death, for him it's a homecoming. ;)
