Came back from the strip yesterday...

No, I didn't run but saw several interesting happenings:

- saturday was apparantly tuner day as there were numerous imports running
- many newcomers as it was painful watching them attempt to stage
- watched an STi blow up his tranny
- watched an older Dodge Aspen wagon blow his engine in a beautiful fireball
- watched the fastest car with the slowest reaction time:

The last car is a newer Nissan 240 2.4L Turbo. This turbo must have been huge which explains why he was sitting at the line for a good 20 seconds spooling his turbo before launching. His best time was around 10.90!

There were 4 "snowmobiles", the best running 9.87.

One car (dragster) hit the guardrail and another car rolled due to the massive crosswinds at the end of the track. This, and the dust from the nearby motocross circuit, caused the premature cancellation of competition for the weekend.

Oh, there was a Chevelle painted a beautiful (candy?) blue that would look gorgeous on an SVX.

Various reasons:

- no money
- alternator failed (again)
- relatively slow
- already know approximately how fast I can run

...or are these excuses? :D

I'm actually looking in to getting my alternator rewound for higher output for my 1500W of stereo and 500W of front lights!

It may have been just a WRX in STi clothing...I didn't confirm for sure. The STi's were running low 13's at best.
