Sun Roof Seal?
A gap has appeared where the rubber joins in the seal around my sunroof, and I am not sure if the rubber has shrunk or if there is supposed to be a filler piece at the joint.
Can someone have a look and let me know. Thanks JohnT |
Not sure if this is what you mean, but there is a rubber gasket that mounts onto the glass, and it is available seperately. Part # 65441PA002, list is $141.23 from Subaru.

I havent had one on my car for about....3-4 months now. No problems with leaking...but you will notice a lot of wind noise. I'm not ready to spend $150 for a peice of rubber.
I tried to make my own out of some weather stripping from Home Depot, but I couldnt find a suitable thickness, or shape. Good Luck :o |
I agree that it's expensive, but at least it is available seperately. The sunroof moldings on some models are only available with the glass....to the tune of $600.

Not sure if we are talking about the same thing, I do not have a glass sunroof, but around the perimeter of my sunroof there is a rubber seal, which has a joint at the middle rear of the runroof. A gap has appeared there approx 1/2" wide, and I am not sure if the joint has split or if there should be a filler piece. If the joint has split, I will attempt to stretch the rubber so that it meets, and will superglue it, but if there is a filler piece, then I will have to find a suitable replacement..

Did any SVX come with a glass sunroof?

No glass sunroof
Oops....:) I was thinking about my Outback. No, the SVX does not have a glass sunroof.

I have had this gap on my original owned 95, also on my short lived 97 and now have it on my 94 reconditioned. It is shrnk gap and I have never had a leak or noise issue.
