Band Adjustment Screw - Anyone have a picture?

It seems like I need to adjust my band adjustment screw on my transmission as I am getting a bit of overrevving on upshifts. I looked this up in the service manual and this is what I see:

ADJUSTMENTS
BAND
Band adjustment screw is located on left side of transmission housing. Hold band adjustment screw, and loosen lock nut. Tighten adjustment screw to 80 INCH lbs. (9 N.m), and back screw off exactly 3 turns. Hold adjustment screw, and tighten lock nut to 18-21 ft. lbs. (25-28 N.m).

Does anyone have a photograph so I can know what I am looking for? There is no illustration. Also, what is the best way to get at this screw? I haven't done much work on the SVX, only the basics, but I have assisted on an engine swap in a volvo 850 turbo and replacing the head gasket on a 1989 Isuzu Trooper so I'm not a total neophyte...

A sheepish thank you!

It is not clear to me how to hold the adjustment screw to keep it from turning when I loosen (not remove) the lock nut. Am I just hoping that it doesn't move?

What gears do you get flaring on? When the brake band goes the high clutch is normally gone as well. The brake band solenoid also has quite a bit of travel in it and the brake band doesn't have very much material on it. For the most part they don't wear enough to need adjustment before they need replacement but hey if you don't have any flare going from 2nd to 3rd give it a shot. The adjustment screw turns easily. As you start tightening it it will turn with very little resistance until the band tightens around the drum. If you put a torque wrench on it and try to get it 80 inch lbs it will keep turning quite a bit. Don't do that. Just snug it down lightly by feel then back it off 1 to 1.5 turns. That will work better for you.

It does seem to be mostly between 2 and 3. Does that mean tranny rebuild time? Anyone in socal do that for less than a king's ransom?

I do partial rebuilds of them which upgrade the parts that fail so it won't fail again and make your shifts lightning fast.
