Hood latch stuck

Went to get my SVX out of storage and I expected the battery to be low, but it was dead and I could not get the hood to unlatch. Underdash release gets tight, but hood doesn't unlatch. What next?

Spray it with some PB blaster and let it sit for a little bit. It probably oxidized while in storage. Spray it through the grill opening.

Ditto. Good advice.

For future reference, I have my Cavalier in storage, and I leave the hood unlatched all the time just to prevent this sort of issue. :)

Get somebody to push down on the front of the hood, while you pull the release.
