Sicksubie's S/C set up

7/24/10 Update: I have been rehabbing a house in my spare time so the SVX has been neglected for a while now. The house however is nearing completion and there will be more and more free time to spend on it.

Currently:

The car:
For those who do not know my silver car was destroyed by 3 trees that fell on it during the ice storm in December of 2008. It has since been a year+ process of transplanting everything over to the SVX. It was originally an ebony, but has since been painted (almost finished) in House of Kolors Black Pearl...

The motor:
- CP forged pistons with 8.5:1 CR
- Eagle H-Beam rods
- ACL Bearings
- ECUTune valvetrain with SS intake valves and Iconel exhaust valves
- ECUTune intake and exhaust cams
- Polished intake stacks
- Ported Exhaust openings
- Outlaw Engineering phenolic spacers between the heads and the intake stacks and also between the blower and the manifold
- Nismo 740cc injectors
- Whipple 1600AX supercharger
- Coolingmist methanol injection kit (using their larger jet and injecting pre-blower)
- Group N motor mounts
- Equal length headers going to a dual 2.5" exhaust
- Twin shorty intakes

The drivetrain:
- Full 2007 STi swap
- 6 speed transmission
- Stock STi flywheel and clutch
- R180 rear differential
- STi rear axles
- SVX front axles
- 6 speed swap kit from YT
- Kart Boy short shifter from Turn in Concepts
- Turn in Concepts Holy Shift kit (replaces all shifter bushings)

The brakes and suspension:
- Stock calipers
- Slotted rotors from Race Concepts
- SS lines
- Axis Ceramic pads
- Koni/ Ground Control coilovers with 415lb springs in the front and 385lb rears
- $15/ 15 minute mod
- $20/ 20 minute mod
- Urethane rear swaybar bushings

Wheels/ Tires/ Miscellaneous:
- BBS 17x8 powdercoated gunmetal (Stock 2006 STi wheels)
- Bridgestone Potenza RE-070 225/40/17
- 5k HID's from Old Tom
- Sparco drivers seat
- Scroth 4 point harness
- Stripped trunk, removed rear seat belts, moved battery to trunk

Coming up:
I ordered camber plates from K-MAC
R888's in 255/35/18
18"RPF1's
Front seats
Figuring out the front brakes and what route to go with them...

What is in the works...

I ended up driving it that way all the way to Cumberland MD where swapped out driveshafts at Old Tom's 20 minutes before the first runs at the 2007 Pumpkin Carve Meet.

I was still on 150k old suspension and transmission at this point and knew my time was short in both areas before they gave up the ghost.

Yeah, I hate to admit, but I would much rather have ice than hurricanes.

The car has been completely transplanted into a 1992 ebony... The body work is all done and it heads to paint on Sunday. I finally got my laptop to interface with my laptop so fingers crossed I start the car for the first time in 10 months tonight...

These came today... My dual intakes are now complete.
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...e/IMG_9458.jpg

Tonight I started mocking up the alternator where the AC compressor used to be, worked on mounting the 11.5lb Braille battery in the engine bay, and started fitting the methanol reservoir where the ABS unit used to be...

I also got a new power steering pulley in the mail yesterday from LAN to replace the warped one, that will get installed tomorrow.

You got a pic of the dual intake setup on the car? Would be very cool to see.

Re: Sicksubie's S/C set up

Those 135 degree silicone hoses are the entire intake. I am not running the piping all the way to the fender wells, but rather going for as short an intake length as possible. I have a massive Green air filter for the end of each of the hoses. I am not overly concerned with under hood temps as the hood will be well vented.

Interesting, dual MAF's? Special tuned ECU?

I can't believe I didn't see your update before... I literally searched for it not too long ago. I was nearly as heartbroken by what happened as if it were my own car. Glad to see things are coming along (you're basically building what I've wanted mine to be since '98). Deffinately keep us updated.

Nice going Bobby.

When the world sends you lemons, make some lemonade.
