How much should a custom brake kit cost...

Option (A)= 6-pot front (18inch wheels), 4-pot rear...

Option (B)= 4-pot front (17inch wheels), 4-pot rear.

I know that this is mod related but at that stage it is still under the price estimation phase only.

The sales manager at Mov-it turned out to be Lebanese ;) , I am trying to work a reasonable price with him for a full VENTILATED kit for the SVX.

I still think it is a long shot that we can get a good price, much lower than quoted, but well it is worth the try.

Please need your feedback about reasonable kit prices.

CUSTOM is the problem... Mov-it has a kit for the fronts at price of $2700 I believe.

There are 4 options for the front.

Three of them are 4 pots each with a larger diameter than the other, whereas the 4th one is 6 pot.

You may be ahead of me on this one. I was going to talk to the folks at Baer about some of their radial mount setups.

As they say, the more the merrier... go ahead man, I am getting nothing out of this, I just want to buy an excellent 6pot/4pot kit for a reasonable price (through a group buy) if possible...

Cheapest option would be to get the wilwood 6-pots and have custom brackets made for them about .5" shorter... Really I have been trying to get to this for a long time but $ and time have been short for a project like this

Yes the 05+ Sti front kit should mount up with a set of custom brackets to pull the caliper ~.5" toward the center of the hub

How much do wilwoods run?

I was personally thinking 4-pot/2-pot, but need to look into the bias as well and see what falls out.

Overall my goal isn't to go too crazy, but at least get some rotors in there with more thermal mass.

Ok here's the drill.

Fronts: Wilwood 6-pot w/ custom adaptors

Rears: Wilwood 4-pots w/ Sti Backing plates

The rears I am not positive of but *should* work

Doesn't look all that bad when you look at it... Ofcourse then you have the rotors to worry about  :(

If this hasn't progressed much by Christmas I'll see what I can do to help it along. I'm going to school for a design course, a large part of which is CNC and machine shop work;).

You need to buy the wilwoods first. We know that the fronts are doable, but the rears are the ones we are worried about...
