Another Non-SVX problem.
Sorry for all this, guys... Just having horrible car luck lately.
97 Grand Cherokee 5.2L MAJOR coolant leak coming from VERY front of engine... It is all over the front bumper etc. Water pump? -Mike |
Hose it off, fil the radiator and start it up. Then find the leak. I assume you did not over heat the engine? Could be the radiator leaking? Did you notice any funny sounds from the water pump?

Seriously, if you know where the water pump is located, crawl under with a flashlight and see if the coolant is coming out of the "weep hole." It's a little hole in the bottom of the pump that is there to say, "It's time to change me." Also check your hose connections to the radiator and make sure your cap fits tightly. Check the overflow pipe to make sure it's not loose from the cap outlet. Those are the simple things. if you don't see anything, then, look for pinholes in the radiator. If no pinholes, look for corrosion at the seams . . . and on, and on. :) Good luck. |
It was a cracked thermostat housing. Fixed already... Unfortunatly, i cant get over to pick it up till wed :(
