Another Non-SVX problem.

Sorry for all this, guys... Just having horrible car luck lately.

97 Grand Cherokee 5.2L

Hose it off, fil the radiator and start it up. Then find the leak. I assume you did not over heat the engine? Could be the radiator leaking? Did you notice any funny sounds from the water pump?

Did not overheat it. Waterpump was replaced at around 60,000... so it has like 130,000 on it. With the fact that i live on college campus, i dont have access to a hose, but I will run it thru the car wash in the morning. No weird noises.

How much fluid did you lose?

Almost none... I drove about 1/2 mile to the chinese resturaunt near me... came out, noticed it dripping quickly, and puddle under car. I then immediatly got in the car and brought it back home. Oh, i stopped on the way and picked up some coolant at the gas station for good measure. (just to put in the trunk)

That had to have made your trunk awfully messy. :D

Seriously, if you know where the water pump is located, crawl under with a flashlight and see if the coolant is coming out of the "weep hole." It's a little hole in the bottom of the pump that is there to say, "It's time to change me."

Also check your hose connections to the radiator and make sure your cap fits tightly. Check the overflow pipe to make sure it's not loose from the cap outlet. Those are the simple things. if you don't see anything, then, look for pinholes in the radiator. If no pinholes, look for corrosion at the seams . . . and on, and on. :) Good luck.
