Poll for blue94svxlsi

I have finally come to the conclusion that I need to take a poll for blue94svxlsi to find out what members think of his stories. He has posted that if people don't like them, that he will stop writing them. Here is your chance to express your feelings! ;)

That's right, take your ball and go home. That'll teach us.

Look, man, I have no problem with you staying here as a member. I'm sure that you, like everybody else on these forums, have something to contribute. I know that, if you have problems with an SVX, we can certainly help you.

It's the ridiculous stories that you post incessantly that people want to see an end to.

With all of the people and opinions here

I now have two people on my ignore list. Occasionally I will check their posts to see if they have changed their tone (or tune) ... so far no change. Rob’s still posting about how great a neon is… and the only thing I think I know about “Blues” SVX is that it might be blue…

I don't understand the race thoughts... color means nothing. Except, what color is your svx?

Did you all read that? the color of one's skin is about important as, "what do you like Coke or Pepsi?"

It's culture that is the important definition of a human. And one culture is no different or better than another, except when that culture promotes hate and violence. That culture regardless of whether it is Red, White, Black, Brown or Purple with pink spots should be removed from the face of the earth. ( I don't mean harmed just changed)

"Gansta's" do not promote anything positive that I've seen. The far Religious Right, Any Extremist organization (I don't care if it's intent is to promote the well being of ice cream) needs to realize that the Extreme Ideas are very rarely the ones that survive. It is a blend of ideas and compromise that last.

Hey... This was a poll thread... that's my opinion... and if because of it I end up on someone's ignore list... that's your right! [Rant\off]

Preach on brother! :) Well said. One of the reasons I'm in a funk about this place right now is that I see a slow slipping of that compromise as of late. Yes, there are many diverse personalities here, but there is definitely a dominant mindset that is getting more dominant every day. But hey, this is a privately operated enterprise, so we can promote whatever ideals we wish. No harm, no foul.

Damage?

With 15 posts total--how much damage has he done? I would not consider that "incessant". But--then I am not considered a fair haired member either. There is a somewhat clanish tone that seems to be growing. In the poll it seems that nearly 20 percent do not seriously object to his postings.

Some things bother some people and other things bother other people. As you all know, I am here as an SVX owner (somewhat rabid) and that is what I want to read about. Others, obviously are here for other reasons. I am not a rabid fan of any other Subaru even though I have owned a total of 10 and still own 5. If I want to read about my Forester--I would go to a Forester site and not bore current SVX owners. I also own a Jeep and a Mopar--70 Barracuda, but I do waste members times on here with my thoughts on them.

I just think a "moderator" should be exactly that maintaining order without taking obvious sides because of familiarity or relationship to any of the parties involved.

Now I will get down off my soap box and brace myself for the blasts.

Bang! Bang! (Troy blasting away at Lee) :D

Just kidding. I actually agree with a lot of what you've said and you're the third person today that has partially posted my thoughts.

Again I do want to state for the record that I don't particularly like what Blue94lsi is doing. I don't really like the stories and he has yet to post anything at all about himself, his SVX, or the SVX in general, not even in a story. None of these are requirements for a post, OT's are certainly welcome by many here and ignored with no fanfare by those that don't care for them. But he is up to around 20 posts and so far has posted nothing but these stories with no explanation at all, other than a few replies in which he just tries to defend them, still not revealing who he is or why he is on this particular site. I will also point out again that I did not see any of the stories that were offensive and in violation of this site's guidelines (the ones agreed to at sign up in the T.O.S.). If I had read those I think I would be more emotionally involved and against his presence here. Like I said, I'm still not really on his side because of the way he is doing things, but I try to be very objective when I post my opinions here. While I may not agree with some opinions, I try to look at everything from the only TOS we have at the moment, and if something is not in violation of that, then it has a right to be here. Even if the majority opinion is against it. It's very hard to do, but I try my best. I'm just glad I'm not a moderator so I don't have to worry about it too terribly much.

Well said, all of you that voted not to have him here are just accustomed to a certain type of post. To rule someone banned because of the way they type, spell, speak or try to tell a story is discriminating and unjust.

big·ot
One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

I have been a member of this club for a long time (back from yahoo) when our interest brought us together. Enough people came together and we outgrew yahoo(plus that stupid bug that kept poping up) and here we are now at this wonderful site that caters to our needs and where we can make friends. We are all different but clicks have formed and I see that because of their views they don't accept others that are different. If you don't like what someone posts, tough(uh... don't read it then)(unless of course it's offensive and directed towards one group or person).

I agree with most of whay most people here have said.

But, in reference to the above quote, you must not have seen his post about racing his "slave". In the true sense of the word I might add. The entire post was full of racial slurs, and that (free speech or not) is not welcome here.

I never saw that post and am glad I didn't. The fact that a lot of us never saw it shows that our moderators are doing their job well. It clearly state in the TOS that racial slurs and the like are not allowed here so I don't think anyone has any problem with those being deleted. If someone continues to post such things and the moderators are constantly finding themselves deleting posts from the same member, than after a warning or too they can ban that member. After the first couple of deletes and warnings it seems like this guy is posting within the limits of the current TOS (it may be argued though because of what the spelling is implying, I don't know). There isn't much to do other than ignore him, or maybe just ignore any thread that he starts, if you notice he has never posted outside his own threads so why even make a big deal about ignoring him? Just don't look in those. (ah, but human nature is to look at the car wreck on the side of the road, isn't it...) :D

I think it's more about the "crap" he's posted. Some of it that would be too offensive for even the most liberal (from what I understand) has been deleted

I would not consider that "incessant". But--then I am not considered a fair haired member either. There is a somewhat clanish tone that seems to be growing.

Clanish? Please explain.

In the poll it seems that nearly 20 percent do not seriously object to his postings.

And this means . . . what? That the overwhelming majority should bow to the "nearly 20%?" I think not.

I just think a "moderator" should be exactly that maintaining order without taking obvious sides because of familiarity or relationship to any of the parties involved.

The moderator (on this forum, at least), should maintain the standard and tone that has been set over the past two years. There is a "neighborhood" atmosphere, here . . . it's a nice neighborhood and the majority of the people like the atmosphere that has been set here. I do, and I will do whatever it takes to keep it the way it is. It's a fine mix of information and friendship. Those of us who've been at it for years and have grown up in SVXdom together, can't just settle for talkin' 'bout SVXes. From 1999 'til now (some longer), we've said all there is to say and then some. I'd like to know how many times I've posted and re-posted an O-ring fix or a CE or Tranny code diagnostic in my nearly 10K posts here and some 15K on the Yahoo site (yeah, I actually counted 'em one time). I too am "rabid" about the SVX and no other Subaru. I've only owned two Subarus in my life. Both are SVXes.

Now I will get down off my soap box and brace myself for the blasts.

Please realize I'm not trying to "blast" anybody. I just want to explain that this forum has a long history of being the way it is (a pre-history, even, as many of us came from the Yahoo board), and if the pimps, crack ho's and drug dealers (metaphorically speaking, of course) try to move into the neighborhood, I hope I'm not alone with I try to run 'em outta town.
