AMR Coilovers

I just contacted AMR by IM today and they said that they are still making them. They said the wait time is about 3 to 4 weeks.
I'm still thinking about ordering a set.
Any thoughts?
Also, the springs I saw on ones that have been made were 350 front and 250 rear. Is that a standard spring rate for our application?
Thanks.

AMR coilovers are still very good, but there has been issues for the past year regarding timely delivery (akin to Stebro).
Also 350/250 lb equates to about 6.5/4.5 kg springs, which should be fine for street use.
I have 7/5 kg springs (roughly 400/300 lb), and some forum members prefer 8/6 kg.

I have the 350/250 lb eibach springs with the koni yellow dampers. The springs are so soft that I have the konis turned to full hard just to keep from bottoming out all the time. I would never buy such a soft spring for this car if doing it again and am most likely ditching the setup or going to replace them with the 8/6kg to keep from throwing sparks on the harsh roads.

Where the hell do you drive? :WTF:
I had my car lowered almost 4 inches from stock with dampers set less than halfway and never bottomed out on anything except steep driveways and speedbumps.

I don't get it, why do you guys lower the car? I would prefer to raise the car. But then again, that's just me.

I have no idea how low I am but I have no fender liners and I had to move my wiring in the drivers fender because the tire was rubbing on it. lol Some of the roads around here have holes and huge dips that really stress the suspension, excessive speed can also be a factor.
Most speed bumps are never a problem if there are no passengers in the car, but one time I was stopped dead by a speed bump. My tow hooks were already bent in half but they still hung up on the speed bump. After that no fat chicks are allowed to ride in the car!

It's lowered for improved fuel economy.

Are you running oversized tires? Again, I didn't have these problems and I still had the fender liners in place. Tires never rubbed against them either. :)

Re: AMR Coilovers

Oh, the +38 offset is causing the rubbing. I'm running 10 spoke STI wheels which are close to stock offset.
Just roll your fenders. :p

I hope you've read the posts about these coilovers. If so, you know that leaving the adjusters mounted to the front coilovers could dent your hood and you know that delivery time has been a problem. I was in the group of the first to take a chance on these and I am very pleased. I like the firmness of the ride. I like that they are custom built in the US and easy enough to adjust or repair if needed. They feel like the car should have come with them from Subaru.

If Andy still has his shop in the US, I think he's in your region and you could pay a visit. If you're willing to be patient and tolerant, I believe they are well worth it.

It looks like his company has grown. He has a real website and expanded services. I'm wondering if his company has grown to the point where he has employees to help him do the kind of things he hasn't been so great at in the past. If so, they may get the coilovers to you quickly. Quality product though, IMO, has always been there.

If I were rubbing around the fender openings I would roll them, but that isn't the case. It was rubbing during hard compression, towards the middle of the tire. That's why it was rubbing on the wiring that runs down the middle of the front fender. I got lucky and noticed this before anything was destroyed. I have other lowered vehicles and each have their own clearance issues, quirks, annoyances. I had to cut my 240z and had to do a light roll and pull on my Legacy. That offset isn't really that drastic compared to the majority of the imports that are stanced out/ hard parked etc.

My lowered LGT, sits fairly flush.
