'93 -'95 Intake manifold different?
Hi, we are planning to buy a '94 svx engine from a junkyard. The guy at the junkyard told us that we have to put the intake from our '92 for it to work or something like that. Is there any difference in the Intake manifold the year 1993 to 1995?
And would an engine that has sat in storage for 4 years still have good seals? ~80k miles. Thanks |

they recomend this because the one off your 92 was still working.. thats more then they can say for the junk yard engine and when you swap intakes they recive new gaskets so that soves that potental problem

As far as I hear from mechanics, if the engine sits too long without being turned on, the piston rings and seals risk being just stuck and damaged... cannot find the words...

I saw a 92 svx intake manifold and it did not have the hole for the EGR temp sensor. I looked at subaruparts and is shows that they all had the sensor. Weird.
1stsubaruparts shows the intake manfold for all 92-95 SVX to be part number 14016AA080. |
Ok, thanks for the help, we're going to get the engine tommorow, hopefully all goes good.
