I just don't care for the cladding and taller ride height of the Outback. |

I'm so glad that the new Impreza and Legacy bring with them narrower headlights. I really dug the squinty headlights on the 2nd-gen Legacy and 1st-gen Impreza, and when they got bubbly I didn't care for them.
Subaru's sticking with what works for them styling-wise, for now. That's awesome. I don't care for a lot of new cars coming out. |
Looks pretty nice. I dig the dual tailpipes, wonder if those will make it over to the U.S.? I also notice the return of the hoodscoop that disappeared for a couple years.
On the Outback issue: Aren't Legacy sedans and wagons still available aside from the Outback trim level? I thought the Outback versions were but one of a few trims, all the others being lower and w/o cladding. Also they used to offer a Legacy GT model for both sedans and wagons with even more performance orientation as far as ride, etc. Edit: yep, just checked on Subaru.com and they still offer many variations of the Legacy, including the GT models. Outbacks are just a lot more prevalent on the roads I guess. |

A Legacy GT H6-VDC would be perfect. |

*by clunky I mean no offense to the Outback, I just needed one word to explain the offroad orientation of the model (extra cladding, ride height, etc). By SUV standards, the Outback is anything but clunky. :) |
i dunno about the chassis difference.. i mean, i have no actual evidence to substantiate the fact that they share or don't share rolling gear, but logically, wouldn't you think that they'd both ride on the same platform? i mean really, would it be worth FHI's time and money to build two seperate chassis' for two cars with practically identical drivetrains and body dimensions?
-adam btw, the new legacy looks pretty friggin' hot.. |

DADDY LIKES!
BTW the chassies are the same all the Outbacks have are basically lift blocks and longer struts. I have been under many of them and scoped them out. |

Even the Forester is getting a turbo motor! I don't see how the GT should have a base engine while everything else gets a 6 or a turbo.... :( Don |

That pic from dead front centre reminds me of a Honduh Accord (not the new 2003's).
