What color to paint

Well my 94 has been outside for the past say 8 months and the paint has really taken a toll for the worst :( . Actually it's not that bad except the usual, spoiler, mirrors, and the plastic side panels (you guys know the ones i'm talking about) ;) . I think It's about time for a paint job :D :D :D . Just curious on feedback about color . Should I keep her red (which of corse would be the cheapest route for me ,since she is Barcelona red, or should I go all new) any ideas :D

yellow!!!!!

I'm afraid that if I paint her a different color that it might affect the value

Just to see how bad it was i took out my clay bar and good wax and tried a small piece of the spoiler. I think it will be O.K. the part i don't think will make it is the mirrors(paint is really thin there). If i were 20 something yellow might be cool ,but I'm 38 and want to be a little more tame :p Thanks for the response :D P.S. where is Yarram ? I'm guessing Canada

You might want to ask for prices in your area first. The shop I just went to is one of the better shops in the area. They told me $4500 for the same color and about $6500+ to change the color, depending on the paint I choose.

If it is just the "usual" spots, you should be able to find someone to paint those to match, granted Red is one of the tougher colors to match but a friend did mine a while back (when I replaced one of my mirrors) and matched it pretty darn close!

Changing a car's color can never really be done right without first tearing it down. The door jambs are easy enough, but you've also gotta get the firewall, inner fenders, inside the trunk...

You could buy a different color SVX for the price difference between a same-color and new-color repaint.

keep it the same color, it will have better coverage. As mentioned, you can try a different shade of red, but not fire red ( cops tend to go after that color, especially on a sports car) show us some before and after shots. Good luck!

Fire red a.k.a.: Arrest Me Red :D

Paint it red again, but do the mirrors, roof, trunk, and spoiler in black like a 92. That would be awesome.

Gotta vote for Mustang Metallic Red. It's a slightly darker red, and shines real nice.

As for price, all depends where you go and what quality you want. I've gotten two paint jobs now, both well under $2k, painting the whole exterior and door jambs/trunk area/most of the engine bay, and I loved the job they did on both cars. For anyone interested in a paint job in the Sacramento, CA area, PM me, and I'll recommend the shop.

I would go with the same color or one that is close to it.
