Rob

So what does this do to promote the SVX and its community? You have already said that you do not like rap music. Is this to prove it. Ponder it? I am not sure that I won't deleat it. I know you put a warning on it, but what good does this piece of filth do for us? We are (or thought) all adults here, and have already made up our minds on whether or not we like it. We really don't need you to keep sticking it in our faces! This is one place I usually come to relieve stress from a hard days work, and then I see this garbage. I am sure you agree because of what you have said in the past, but please don't bring it here.

(If I get complaints about this post, I will deleat it)

I guess my point is just how OFFENSIVE so called 'music' can be. Sure, we might have some druggy celebrities. But you know what? They get famous BEING IN MOVIES, and 'pretending' to be good people. Sports stars TRY to be likeable. Sure, in their personal lives, they might be screw ups.

But rap artists are completely different. This is WHAT THEY GET PAID FOR. This is WHY people listen to them. This is THE CULTURE. And fo shizzle to the nizzle, I don't need to be wearing baggy pants and fubu shirts in order to say that I'm disgusted by it.

If I had a button right now that made every 'gangsta rap' album and artist just 'cease to exist', I'd press it in a heartbeat.

What is this site about?

In the last few days almost all I've seen for new posts are:

This guy didn't pay me for this
This guy didn't look at a car for me as a favor, so now I'll call him names
Rap this and rap that, etc.

It makes a person feel like a kindergarten teacher walking in on the first day of class

Now THAT is something to Ponder! :)

I would've but I thought someone might delete the whole thread or lock it, and I didn't want that to happen to the other rap thread.

ohhh....good idea...well i think that this topic could be a good one for a paper i have to write this semester, i just have to talk to my professor, i may use you as the contrasting opinion :)

i wrote a paper on the the influence of gangsters, past and present, and how they evolved a couple years ago. wanna read it?

as for robs ever-vigile attempts to make us hate hardcore rap, its amusing, to me, as a true fan of hardcore.

after reading the lyrics: i dont even think those are in succession.
however xzibit has to be one of the most talented artists ive ever heard. xplicit lyrics or not.

If he was indeed talented he could have made it without being that vulgar/offensive.

i think his older stuff is better than new though, as with most rappers out these days...with a few exceptions of course...and if he was rapping about flowers and butterflies im sure he wouldnt be getting the same reaction from his fans. so guns and beer it is i guess.

Is that why Will Smith is broke? He does rap with no swearing, even made a song about it. He branched into TV and movies and seems to be doing quite well.

Exactly. His fans are into guns and beer. Hence. Low class. Hence. Another reason why I don't dig gangster rap; the people who listen to it are trash (present company excluded due to the fact that you have an SVX and not a camaro or an 80s buick with 19s)
