Japanese SVX with Kindergarden Interior
Ok, this is a first for me, I dunno if some of the SVXi in JP came with such an interior. More info HERE
Again guys, check out the OEM radiator on this one with METAL TABs. ;) |
Re: Japanese SVX with Kindergarden Interior
Metal tabs?

Re: Japanese SVX with Kindergarden Interior
Yes mate, check out the engine picture. You can see that the rad has metal tabs instead of plastic. You can see the peeling black paint on them.

Re: Japanese SVX with Kindergarden Interior
I've seen those floor mats before, they do seem pretty strange. Must be Japanese thing. The fabric design on the seats is new to me though. Also the console trim has been painted silver.

Re: Japanese SVX with Kindergarden Interior
new to me, nice find. That is the closest thing to a black interior I have seen to date.

Danny, I take deep, personal offence. That's the standard interior from an S40 II, same as the '94 one I have in England. :p These came in when Fuji had a lot of cars to sell and they "cheapened" the spec to reduce unit cost. This model was followed by the S3, which was sadly very very cheapened, it's the one SVX I would resist buying. They made amends with the S4, which is the pinnacle, the one to have other than a CXD. Yes the interior panels are painted grey, that's how they left the factory. There are cars in the US like this too I have noticed. The ecsaine on the dash is also a lighter material grade in grey than the original '92 cars had in purple. Michael, strange they made the interior so black for kindergarden use? I'm beginning to suspect that your idea of a black interior is a matt black Black Hole. Anything less black than this is dark grey. Joe :p |

That's a 16 year old car. The plastic tank split at some stage and that owner replaced with a proper metal replacement to avoid another breakdown. There is no OEM metal tanked radiator for the SVX. Stop dreaming now. Joe :) |

http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...pear/32421.JPG I saw the front clip of an SVX imported from Japan at his place. What struck me in it is the SAME radiator that is in the picture above. I looked at it thoroughly, it was thin, same as the OEM one but with metal tabs/tanks/whatever... The plastic things that burst in normal SVXi seem to be fixed when converting them to metal. I am NOT saying it is an OEM subaru, I am saying it is an OEM core with metal thingies, there is a difference. And to add to it, I was discussing it with 1986Nate few hours ago... we concluded that it seems there is a third party involved in customizing OEM rads for SVXi in Japan. Same as the alternators with Maniac Electric where you send them cores+$ and they send you back upgraded ones. BTW, this is the third one I see on an SVX, one in person and two on the web. Check one of my earliest posts (1~2 months ago), I mentioned this before. ;) |

I'm actually only really offended by Subaru putting such a low quality interior in a high quality vehicle, if the truth were known. OEM to me means from the manufacturer. I doubt these rads come from Subaru. Joe ;) |
Re: Japanese SVX with Kindergarden Interior
Well those are some busy patterns on that interior.
Floor mats remind of a casino/ballroom carpeting. |
Re: Japanese SVX with Kindergarden Interior
It seems like a lot of people here really like the floor mats but I personally hate them.. I think they look like my grandmothers curtains..
