SH-AWD? Any thoughts on this new Acura?

Any comments from svx'ers? What do you think? Special K for special kids?

New Flagship From Acura
The next-generation RL luxury performance sedan made its world debut in New York as a prototype; however, when the final production version arrives this fall it's not expected to look much different.

This new RL features a slew of innovations, most notably what Acura calls Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). This unique system not only distributes power between the front and rear wheels, it adjusts torque between the rear wheels to provide "precise cornering performance."

This RL will be the most powerful vehicle Acura has ever produced. Under the hood is a 300-horsepower 3.5-liter VTEC V6 engine.

To discover places to exert this power and handling ability, the RL will feature North America's first real-time traffic system that will display road conditions in the navigation system. Twenty major metro areas are expected to be covered when the car goes on sale this fall.

The new RL and TL Acura have a styling that I find a little questionable. I like the proportions of the smallerTSX, but that same styling on the TL/RL just accentuates its bulkiness...

Now don't get me wrong, 300hp and AWD is going to be a thrill to drive, but for the money I would rather get an Infiniti G35x with the ATTESA ETS-Pro from the Skyline GT-R. It is only available in the 260hp sedan, but insiders say that it'll debut on the 280hp coupe version next year!

Oh My Gawd!!!

I just read the specs, It's amazing. It's not limited slip, It's L-R torque control via the Stability computer. Inputs include Yaw rate and Steering angle. if Yaw rate doesn't match Steering input it comands more torque to the outside wheels!!!

Yeeehaww, Just like fly-by-wire on F-117 and 777's well Cool! get one today!

That's pretty cool. Sort of like a severe development of the CR-V's AWD system, but with electromagnetic clutches instead of a whole self-contained hydraulic system.

I'd rather have the Volvo s60 R... :):D:D:D:cool:

they used the same kinda thing on older auto preludes... it helped in cornering A LOT, however, shortened the life of the tranni... hopefully this version is better.

Now that is a car I can appreciate! I just love the interior with the blue gauge cluster...I also think they run like 14.0 in the 1/4.

Not too shabby for a Volvo! :)
