Correcting Myself
I remember at one time mentioning that the SVX transmission will shift into 4th no matter what temperature. Recently I've noticed that is not true.
However, we will never have to worry about the tranny not getting warm enough to shift into 4th as the tranny only needs to be a few degrees above freezing to do so. My tranny temp gauge says 50°F when it shifts into 4th but the gauge is not accurate at that temperature. What I said about the Torque Converter is still true. It will not lock until the tranny reaches approx. 150°F. |
Hmm.. I think 50F, in common knowledge is the temp needed for the upshift to 4th. ;)

50°F = 10°C 150°F = 65°C (and it's Celcius...not Canadian :p ) Why is the US one of the only few countries left to switch to metric? |
