airbag suspension?
i have been throwing around the idea of lowering my svx, but the road i live on has speed bumps, not to mention that the town i live in is nothing but hills, steep driveways, and messed up streets,
so lowering would only be a good idea if i could raise it up on command... not to mention airbags are cool :) sooooooooo long story short, i have been wondering what it would take to do an airbag suspension set up well, i know what it would take: 4 airbag strut setups, a compressor and a tank in the trunk, plus piping and what not but i was wondering if anyone knew how it would effect the handling... that is, would it ride like a cadillac or would i still be able to handle corners like it does now? and, would one be able to run coil overs as well or anything similar to keep it stiff? could i have a modified coil setup with the bags on top of the spring? im just curious if this would be practical.... the only experience i have with airbags is on my 93 ford F-150, but that is just in the rear and is only for heavy load purposes, and it doesnt have tanks or anything. thanks for any input |
I remember a thread about airbag suspension, look it up...
