Best transmission
What is the best manual transmission option? I emailed the guy at SVX Planet and he said that he doesn't have a 5 speed kit any more. He also said that it's not reliable. I can't go to Tom and let him install it because I'm in northern N.Y.(otherwise I would). But I definitely want a manual tranny and my automatic is D.O.A. Whats the best way to go?

The 5MT from a WRX would be fine for the SVX application.

Get Tom to build you a kit and ship it. My choice above all would be a JDM Forester STi 6MT, but the WRX 3.90 5MT is pretty darn good.
|
Are they reliable? and how would I get a JDM tranny to give to Tom? Thanks

I have an '04 WRX 5sp in mine and absolutely love it. It shifts nice and smooth. My fiance and I drive very differently. I am easy on her where are he drives her like he stole it. The transmission takes the abuse of the hard shifting in stride while he is driving.

I have a 2003 wrx trans in mine. It holds up very well of 10k spirited miles so far.

Is there any price chart somewhere to see what's the options pricewise?
I mean.. exept the 3000$ Small car asks. Thanks! |

5mt kit with driveshaft is $1000
w/o is $800. Just tell me what tranny you are suing and I will make the parts accordingly Tin |
are all of the aforementioned tranny's compatible with a FWD car? I have always wondered what differences there are between the FWD and AWD trannies, if anything.
