Air Bag light on
Just bought a 98 Outback off ebay from some shady character who demands positive feedback before he gives you the car. Being almost 200 miles away I did not have the privilege to inspect it first and surprise surprise. Air bag light is on, and CEL. Pulled code for CEL and its just a knock sensor PO325 but does anyone know what the most common causes are of an airbag light constantly lit are on these cars.

Re: Air Bag light on
.. a dead battery which drains the airbag auxillary capacitor with control module needing to reset( just disconnecting the battery doesn't usually reset SRS lights..need proprietary scan/readers) , clockspring shot, control module fried and the ever popular "airbag removed". The impact sensors may have corroded connectors..they are somewhere in the front fender wells usually with yellow cable/wiriing. Some car part stores have SRS OBD2 readers to read the airbag codes but most don't mess with that liability.
