Friday, November 25th Drag Meet - Capitol Raceway
 

Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 24th this year and Capitol Raceway in Crofton, MD is having a test-n-tune on "Black Friday", November 25th.

Gates open at 5:00pm, test-n-tune from 5:30-11:00pm. $10 to spectate, $20 to race.

Last year when SVXRide did some 1/4 mile runs at Capitol on the Friday after Thanksgiving, temps hoovered in the low 40's to upper 30's! Fast times are guaranteed, but dress warmly folks!!!! :cool:

The address Capitol Raceway lists on their website isn't recognized by any of the major navigation websites. I did some digging on-line and the actual street address of the Racewway is:

1455 Jackson Rd, Odenton, MD 21113

Plug this address into either Mapquest or Yahoo! maps and you'll be taken all the way to Capitol Raceway Rd which leads to the dragstrip.

From the South
Take I 95 North to 495 North to Rt. 50 East to Route 3 North, Go through 4 lights (approx 6 miles) into Crofton. Follow the Capitol Raceway signs and turn left at the Wendy's. Crossover to Route 3 South. Get in the right lane and Capitol Raceway Rd is 100 feet on the right.

From the North
Take 95 South to 895 through the Harbor Tunnel to Route 97S to Maryland Route 3 South. Go approximately 3 miles and turn right onto Capitol Raceway Road or take 95 S TO 695 East to 97S to MD Route 3 South to a right on Capitol Raceway Road. If you use 83 S take 695 West to 97 S to Rt. 3 S to Capitol Raceway Rd.

I'm there! (just have to make sure the engine is back together! :eek: ). FYI - it was so "cold" last year that the VHT they spray on the track wasn't providing any "bite" -- my car wasn't hooking up until around mid track!

But you were fwd back then due to a faulty solenoid C. AWD does wonders in the cold! The cold dense air, should result in fast times all around!!! :)

Should be a blast though...a freezing cold blast! :rolleyes:

I should be able to make it but I cannot promise the 5mt will be making an apearance as it could be hibernating by then. If I end up having to drive the silver, I will not be racing but I will be designated camera man

Yeah, you're right -- I've still got melted rubber on the passenger's side front rim from the tire spinning at the starting line. This November will be entirely different, as the engine and drivetrain will be in a whole new state of mind ;) :cool:

Hope you're able to bring it. Otherwise it'll be interesting to see what Bill-Stock Level II can do in the 1/4 mile! :)

The Race Car I was referring to was the one up North (Ben? Dave?)...but you're right, if I can get Paul to get me the pics of the interior of the 'reX then I may be able to close the deal on her and have her up here by late October/early November :cool: :cool:
If I've got the 'reX by November I'll still probably have both cars at the track (I'll let my wife drive Bill-Stock Level II ;) :D )

Damn! I can't imagine seeing both Bill-Stock Level II and the SVXRex in the same place!!!

Depending on gas prices, it would be nice if Ben, Dave and Melis could attend. I'd love to see the SVX racer go 13 seconds that evening!
