3000gt wheels? do they fit

I think I remember people talking about how these did fit, however I was wondering if anyone could confirm or deny if these wheels fit.

They have 245/45/16 tires on them.

I need new tires ASAP, and found these... I don't particularly like the way they look, but heck, if they work I'd rock them.

I would say you can get those to fit

You have to be a member to view the link. What are the dimensions of the wheel and offset?

curly2k3 06-16-2006 08:18 AM

I was thinking just the tires... my bad

They're 16x8, however we don't know the offset. I haven't been able to find it either.

I know people have put the VR4 wheels on which are 17x8 IIRC.

Yeah, 245/45/16 tires would definitely fit and are a nice upgrade even on the stock wheels. Gives the car a nice 'beefy' stance.

The circumference of the 245/45/16 tire size is also very close to the stock 225/50/16 tire size so your speedo wouldn't be off much.

Yeah... For reference... 245/50/16s don't really fit. Ask me how I know.

"Ask me how I know."

Im going to go ahead and asume I don't want to know

You'll have to get the offset for me to know for sure.

The RX-7 wheels I had on my car had 16x8" dimensions, but a very high +50mm offset. This worked very well with the stock SVX suspension (as our stock wheels also have a high +55mm offset). If those wheels wheels have an offset lower than +45mm I'd pass on them. If the offset is any higher than +58 to +60mm then they may rub against your strut.

I don't think I want to know, but a 245/50/16 tire has a much bigger circumference than the stock tire size. I bet the tires rubbed front and rear especially when you hit the slightest bump! :D

Well, lets just say I purchased, and paid for 2 225/50/16 tires...

my car ended up with 2- 245/50/16 tires on it... NTB sucks.

Actually the fronts fit beautifully. Filled out the gap nicely too.

The problem was they tried to "tuck" in the rear, but were far to wide.... I have 4 people in the car, they rubbed. I hit a bump, they rubbed... and that was after I modified the inside of the fendor to offer more clearance.

I'm trying to find the offset but I haven't had any luck. I believe my buddy was saying something along the lines of on his DSM the rubbed on the strut. Which is okay, as DSMs like an offset of 35mm or so. soo that would suggest to me that they were a fair amount higher offset than that.

drivemusicnow 06-16-2006 08:59 AM

I've seen a 46mm number being thrown around for them, however i'm not convinced yet.

SVXRide 06-16-2006 10:28 AM

they will fit, they're just heavier than our stock rims:eek:

The 17x8.5" VR-4 wheels have a very high offset and fit nicely (though as my friend mentioned are, uh beefy at 26 pounds or so). I can't offer any insight on the base model (16x8) wheels though Greg.

The answer is .... YES!!! And I should know.. I totalled my VR-4 and took the rims and tires off of it and threw em on the Suby. Here's the kicker. I am not able to confirm that the non-VR-4 wheels will fit. Also, unless you want a little rubbing I wouldnt go with 245's. 225's is what I hear is the most you can squeeze, however with a hammer and only running 1/2 a tank of gas in my car I haven't had any rubbing :D :D :D . Now there is a problem if of course your passenger happens to be a very large person, or if you plan on putting more than 2 people in the car. The fronts clear just fine its the rears that I have had the problem with.... Hope this helps!
