SVX Restoration has begun!!!

OK,
So far I have...

Installed all 3 brand new Wipers/arms (old ones were rusted all to hell)

Installed the JDM Center Tail light that I bought from Mike at Reading (THANKS!!)

Then I called up red95svx and ordered a whole bunch of little parts that were old/broken (its the little things that count) and I cannot wait to get them.

I also PMed Seraph on some parts from his parts car, shes looking better everday!!

P.S. If you ever change your wiper arms in the front, they are a PITA to align properly so that they sit on the stops and dont wipe off the edge of the windsheild!!!

Im talking to myself here, but who cares, more work has been done!!

I got the parts I ordered from red95svx today, way sooner than I expected!!

Those parts were, the little pink clips that hold the side cladding on the lower portion of the doors, so now its all a straight line again on both sides!! I had the rear most top clip on the drivers and the passenger side broken, and I was getting tired of the little "flare out" that was there from no clips.

Drivers seat lap belt holder that had been previously broken, now good as new!!

Little cap that goes over the rear windsheild wiper shaft on the rear deck of the inside of the car. The old one was crumbling into tiny peices!!!

And lastly two replacement clips for the H-6 cover on the engine.

Now all I am waiting on is the drivers side visor, center console box lid, and e-brake handle replacements I bought from Seraph, those should be here tomorrow I am guessing!!

Anyways... I CANT WAIT!!! Its so nice to be finally fixing all of the little annoying things!!

That's great Chris! It's always nice to replace those little things that are broken or worn:)

Next time you replace or paint your wipers, try putting a little piece of masking tape on the windshield to mark the positions of the wipers. That helped me a lot when I took mine off for painting.

Speaking of replacing, my 95 needs new brakes soon. I'm not sure if I want to use the stock brakes or not. I might go aftermarket.....I hear there are some good choices out there.

noise

are you still getting that noise you were telling me about?

What's a good paint to use for our wipers? Mine are silver in a few places, and I'd like them to be all black again...

Chike,

I think I used Rustoleum Flat Black. I suppose gloss black might have been a little nicer, but I think they look great (certainly much better than bare metal/rust:))

I used Brand X gloss black, just because there happened to be a can on the garage shelf. Looks good (anything would have been an improvement), but I think I'd prefer flat or matte, and that's probably more in keeping with the original finish.

mine were rusted beyond the point of painting.

svxpert... I'm not really sure about the sound anymore... you know how it is, if you think there is a sound, soon enough you will hear it even if it doesnt exist.

what I am going to end up doing is trying to get a handle on some koni's and just do everything all at once...

Good luck trying to find Koni's...everyone seems to be sold out.

props on the little things! I have a slew of them, mine has been in the shop for 2 weeks for a $7 speedo gear. I have a list a mile long of to-do's.
