Underdrive pulley and alternator warnings..

I installed an underdrive pulley (original crank pulley separated) about two months ago and have noticed an intermittent "problem"

actually i'm not sure if it really IS a problem.. here's what happens..

whenever i take a pretty tight LEFT turn, i get alternator warning lights like I did when the pulley first separated and the belt would stop spinning altogether..

it doesn't seem to happen on right-hand turns though. is this just a result of the underdrive? my little three-level LED battery indicator says that the battery is doing okay, generally in the top or middle of the charge meter (green or orange LED's)

anyone wanna chime in on this one?

Ever get an answer on this one? Is it only at low RPMs? Have you checked the alternator power connector?

no answer.. i've since lost 3rd and 4th gear in my audotranny, so the alternator no longer seems like such an issue :) i am still getting the lights when i drive around town, although not so much anymore since the revs are generally a lot higher :) i haven't checked any alternator connectors, although i really should. i took the alternator out once and put it back in.. one of the connectors might have shaken out a bit.. any other thoughts?

k dude the pulley might be making a charging problem worse if its underdrived more than 5%. the pulley by itself wont do much harm.

Get a little volt meter that you plug into the lighter (preferably one that displays voltage) and keep a watch on it when you're driving. It should hopefully give you an idea what's happening to your charging system while you're driving.

p.s. go 5spd!
