Service parts prices.........

I thought I'd share with you all the prices I've been quoted of genuine parts from my local Subaru agent here in the UK :

Oil filter £10.70
Air filter £24.40
Fuel filter £39.55
Spark plugs £9.75 each
Timing belt £114.66
Water Pump £93.93
Front brake pads £105.74
Throttle Potentiometer £330.97

All Plus 17.5% tax.

I don't know the exchange rate to USD, but I guess somewhere about 1.6.

I thought Subaru recently discounted all their "old model" parts ?? I guess I'll be trying my local independant parts supplier next...........

Some of those proces are slightly higher than US list and some are ridiculous.

If I were you, I'd find out whether or not Subaruparts.com shipps internationally. Some of those parts could be had for cheaper, you'll just have to make sure that they're the same thing. Most will be.

As for your local 'discount' auto parts store, in many cases you're going to be disappointed, I'm afraid. Many parts, which usually find themselves duplicated in the aftermarket, are not available for the SVX. I hear 'dealer only' a lot.

Oil filter £10.70 = $19.13
Air filter £24.40= $43.62
Fuel filter £39.55 = $70.71
Spark plugs £9.75 each= $17.43
Timing belt £114.66 = $205.00
Water Pump £93.93 = $167.93
Front brake pads £105.74 = $189.05
Throttle Potentiometer (TPS) £330.97 = $591

and you thought the USA dealers were bad!

Different parts of the world have different markets. You can't expect an oil filter to sell for the same exact price every where around the globe. It doesn't work that way.

I've heard that Levi's jeans sell for approx. $80.00 USD in France. I just bought a pair for $25. Strange how the world works:)

A total of £729.70 + tax. :(

Joe bought a complete set of spares for less than that. :D

Makes you think doesn't it.
