svx promotional video
 

So I just watched the SVX promotional video that Subaru sent out in 1992 to launch the SVX. "Our new look subaru" was what they called it.

So basically it was SVX porn, lots of shots of a glistening pearly white SVX LS-L (with optional rear spoiler!) pulling up to the side of the road and getting lots of stares and ogling and attention (at least that's truth in advertising!). Oh, and a lot of dumb '80s/early '90s advertising and styles.

It was nice to watch, but not very informative or technical. What was interesting though, was that they included a customized comparison to some of the SVX's competitors that year: 1991 Audi Coupe Quattro, 1991 Acura Legend Coupe L, 1991 Nissan 300ZX, 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL.

Has anyone else seen the video?

I have the original tape sent to the previous owner of my SVX, I don't think he watched it more than once. It's still in great condition though, brand new. If anyone knows of a way to put it on the forum, let me know. I'd be more than happy to share it. :)

I haven't seen that video. Can either of you guys put it up in an mpeg video file for all of us to see? :D

I've seen it, and I have it. :D I also have the "Owner's Manual on Tape." What's funny is, when I started watching it, I looked at the talent and said, "I know that guy!" We've used him on a couple of video projects we've shot. Of course, in the SVX video he had lots more hair and was much younger. :D I also have a copy of the '96 sales promotion video.

There is a DVD that is out with all of the video tapes on it. :)

Oh, I almost forgot my CD roms -- Road and Track Guide on CD Rom and a CD with loads of SVX pictures and the first 75,000 posts from the Yahoo site (among other things). :D

Yeah, at first that's what the previous owner said the tape was. I guess he got them mixed up, and he still has that somewhere. I should get in touch with him... :)

i want to see them. :( i should buy the dvd next time i see it on ebay.

I have one from ebay.. I watched all of them. I almost fell asleep though.

I have Japanese SVX promotional video(about 20min). I can't upload the movie, but I posted the collection of still images from the video in my locker.. so check it out.. Rumor says Subaru spent 100grand on that promotional video.:eek:

The part of the DVD that went on and on about the a/c put me to sleep. :(

That's where I fell asleep too. I can't believe that I got tired when I was watching something about SVX..
