Security Relay Q:

hi, I trying to get my security system working. the security light is constant red light, they say that means the module is bad.
But I remember reading that if the unit has not been used for awhile the security relay will go bad. Would that cause the constant red light because the relay is between the security button and the module?
where is this security relay? and is it the same as the starter relay?
my security module is in the trunk.

Re: Security Relay Q:

Security system internal relay fails, can be desoldered and a new one soldered in.install a new after market system,no more headaches.security system has a start cut relay (under the dash) can either be removed and jump the pins or add a start cut switch is my preference. 92-93 system is behind the glove box a pain to get to but easy to wire in a new system. 94' on, either run some wiring up to the dash for some advanced functions to wire in I.e. windows up. Or tap into the old system plug in for basic functions. Hope this helps.
