An Idea to help frustrated SVXers

As a new SVXer, I have found that, aside from ordering manuals from subaru, there is really no complete, organized, and easily accessible place to find all information needed on the SVX, as far as repairs, maintenance, and even history. However, with the experience I've seen in the past week of so many of the people on this forum, several books could be written collectively just on your knowledge of the car.

Here's my idea:

A Wiki!
A Wiki, for those who don't know, is an encyclopedia of sorts, where people are free to add and change articles as they see fit.

This way, the collective lot of everyone here could enter in what they know on the car into the site, and have a good size, well detailed manual.

Pages included could be:
Performing an oil change
Flushing the Radiator.
Replacing Wheel Bearings
The 4EAT: Why Your Life Has Become a Living Hell...

I have made a site with a free wiki host, at http://subarusvx.wikidot.com

If this catches on, hopefully the site should soon be full of good information.

Idea, Nov. '07: <SVX Wiki> which is now down.
Referenced there: <SVX Information Warehouse>

FWIW. No sense doubling up efforts compiling information or parts development, yes? :D

I don't think there can ever be enough SVX resources... as seeing how some of them tend to fall off the face of the web with no return. It's nice to know there's somewhere else you can find the information.

There are a lot of good resourceful sites out there, including this forum but it does seem to be scattered about and finding exactly what you are looking for can seem to take hours, if not days, as the problems seem to branch out past the first point of resolution.... where other problems could be present that is.
(if that makes sense... I'm not good with wording it I guess  )

Don't misinterpret me as against the idea.

Ask any Chinese Reverse Engineer, and he'll tell you that the easiest way to make something is to analyze or duplicate something that's already established and does the same thing.

As such a thing exists, it'll be a quick foundation if a new one is to be made.

Not to mention the How-To Documents that are here and were posted in the other site. :o
