Is this helpful at all?? (ignition question)
Well, I have this MSD 6al ignition box lying around. Just curious if this will in any way help the 'ole svx,or if it won't even work at all. I originally bought it for use on a distributor-equipped car and have since sold the car but I still have the box. Will this type of thing even work on a COP ignition such as ours?
Just curious to know either way, thank you. -nevin |
I'm no xpert, but I am rather sure that that box will not work w/ your car. You should be able to sell it somewhere though. the 6al is a good box, and is good for most other dizzy cars. Someone else can chime in if something else needs to be said.

MSD 6, 6A, 6t etc., will not work with the SVX.
One has to use the MSD Stacker, model #7020. There are TWO VERSIONS. We need the newer version that has a grey wire loop. (see attachemnt) http://www.msdignition.com/ignition_29_7020.htm I picked mine up of eBay for $150. |

What are the benefits of adding a MSD stacker box? Do you normaly put one on a modded car or would it help out on a mainly stock one too?

I know that a few other cars with COP ignition like ours like to use boxes that just increase the primary voltage from 12v to 20v across the rev range. The one that comes to mind is the XS... uhhh, powerpack I think it's called? Correct me if I'm wrong please. Would something like that work, do you think?
