Creaking noise when turning and under hard accel.

Recently, my 92 has started to make a creaking noise coming from the right front wheel area. I talked to a couple people, and said it is probably the CV joints, is this a common problem with these cars? Also, when starting from a start under hard acceleration, a loud thumping noise comes from the same area, could this be the bearings or also the CVs?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My front axles were going bad when I got the car. I traced the problem to the rewheel drive not working correctly. Turning and acccccccellerating is FUN and causes faster wear to the front CV joints. That is not just on an SVX but on any car, with a front drive system.

Anybody have an idea on how much CV joints would cost to replace?

Any yes, the creaking noise occurs whenever I make a right turn.

I was in a hurry to have one of my axles replaced, so I had an Aamco shop do it. The axles on the SVX may be specific to the car, but they're not of any special type.

Anyway, I know it cost less than $200 - maybe less than $150.

I'd be perfectly willing to get the parts myself and do it, but I was in a hurry, after all. Plus those axle nuts can be a total ***** to get off the axles.
