I don't like the color that much but WOW that is a svxy, clean car! Every bit of the vehicle is amazing except the wheels... Someone said something about the "rims" so I automatically thought of "20 inch chrome spinnas!" Thank god they aren't.

Couple of things...Custom/OEM Mcintosh sound system? The only sound system offered by subaru in the svx, to my knowledge, was the panasonic set up. Not to mention, from the pictures it looks stock.

Also, stebro exhaust? Unless the seller cut off the dual exhaust tips on the stebro setup and welded the oem tailpipes back on, I see no evidence of the stebro setup.

The car does look nice, good luck selling it for $8k though.

Agreed.. Then again, there are ignorant people out there who know nothing about cars.. Alas, they tend to be the ones to "pimp" the cars out then smash into telephone poles...

Subaru did use McIntosh equipment as OEM in the Outback at one point...

...but it doesn't much look like the unit shown in the SVX!

Re: 1997 svx

Subaru uses McIntosh a lot in their up-spec JDM cars, but there was never an OEM listing for the SVX. Plus the unit shown is a standard Panasonic.

That car is/was owned by somebody on here on the Network. I have seen the pics before and remember debating the tint.

It appears to be in nice condition, so I hope the owner gets a good price for it.

Joe :)

The seller is a member here. Dark dark tint is a necessity in nevada to keep from turning your lether into beef jerkey. The stereo is the one let it snow is pointing out, just not installed at the time the pictures were taken perhaps

You guys kill me.
Well lets see if i can hit all the observations made.
The car does not have the rear wiper installed at this moment but it does come with the car.
The wheels are Subaru from an 08 Tribeca and i used them to keep the upgrades OEM.
The car does in fact have a Stebro system when you purchase one you get to choose the tips you want and maybe the picture is from their website, The car sounds great a nice deep throaty note. It does not sound like a wound up rubber band like some svx systems i have heard.
The window tint is due to the extreme heat in Vegas where the car has been for 24 months. If someone purchases the car they can remove the tint if they dont like it.
The car has a complete Mcintosh soundsystem, the head unit and amp came out of a legacy and the rear shelf and door and dash speakers are all Mcintosh brand new units never before installed.Mcintosh made 6x9 and 5 and a quarter?? for 1 year only and this car has a new set. It sounds amazing.
The system was installed after some of my pix were taken.

Here are some newish pix:http://picasaweb.google.com/shimmers...eat=directlink

I am in Dubai working and am now only in the USA for 4 months a year.
I have 2 cars and no time to drive them so i am cleaning house.
I also have a 66 Thunderbird Towne Landau for sale that is totally restored.

The Subaru project was fun and the car is flawless, i tried to keep the mods tasteful and use Subaru stuff to make an updated version of my favorite car.

If you guys have any questions or know anybody you might think might be interested in this car please let me know.
shimmersky@gmail.com and in jan only 415 260 2050

A few members on this forum have helped me with parts and advice for this car and build, brakes and stereo connectors and driveshaft service from tomsvx.

Thanks to all and have a happy new year.
