Won't bore with the details...

... insult added to injury, compounded multiple times... and Thumper is no longer an SVX owner.

Those who know me personally (there are one or two out there) know that I've had things rough of late... lots of stuff going on in my personal life that have really taken their toll. I found myself in a position recently that I realized I could no longer afford to keep my SVX... hell I couldn't even afford to change the oil. Blame a drastically failing economy in the USA that's taken its toll on small business owners. Despite what some might say, it started long before 9/11/2001... that just exacerbated the situation. Finally called it a day when someone broke into my SVX over a week ago, caused significant damage to the drivers side windows (which were replaced by my insurance almost immediately), stole my stereo and slashed by seats. Bastards.

Tuesday night I said goodbye to my old friend; my '94 pearly. I've had a rough couple of weeks, and it's made even worse by the fact that I have no other car right now... except my Fiero which is currently off-the-road due to a tranny problem I can fix for less than $100... but don't have $100 to fix it with.

So here I am... driving a borrowed car until I can scrape together enough coinage to either buy a rustbucket, or fix my Fiero... neither option makes up for the loss of my SVX.

As has been said before... it's just a car... but man, the community is what makes the SVX truly special. I hope that, with or without an SVX I'll still be welcome at the 10th anni meet next year :)

Gavin,
If you DON'T show up at the 10th Anniversery meet, I'll be PISSED! No matter what you're driving. About the other stuff, I'm just agast. I don't know what to say. But, don't leave this club, whatever you do. Hang with us -- better days are 'round the corner -- we want to hear about them as the progress. The very best to you my friend. I still want to get together. I'll PM you my phone number, call me sometime and I'll drive up to St. Looey and we'll head for your favorite pub for a pint or two . . . or three . . . or four . . . . .. . . . . .

See? That's what I was saying about the community here :D

Definitely I won't be leaving... but I may stay quiet for a bit longer. It's been rough lately... and coming down with the flu today hasn't helped! You'll still see me around though... hell I'm one of "the old school" myself... wouldn't seem right for me to leave ;)

Aredub; definitely take you up on that offer... ya knows my email address (no, I won't be changing that any time soon)... in fact that goes for any SVXers coming to or through St. Louis... love to meet ya!

As for the offer of the ride to the meet... I might take you up on that! Depends how things go... but even if I gotta duct-tape pieces onto my Fiero every 30 miles I'll make it one way or another ;)

Thumped

Thumper,
What can I say that Randy hasn't already said. Please don't leave us. We have missed your company a lot lately! I loved our all-to-infrequent chats on Shotskytalk.
Hang in there....I have seen times like you are going through, and although you can't see it at the time, better days are on their way, believe me.
Looking forward to seeing you in Indiana!:) Don

Don't you dare
