Cheap Race Fuel
I was studying up a bit on E85 as I have a station near my house that offers it, and the information is as varied as it can be (most of it false claims from the oil companies or the conversion companies). I did, however, stumble onto this thread:
http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=216205&page=1 It seems possible to use E85 as an efficient and cheap race fuel, from what the thread says. I was wondering, what could be possible for a NA SVX with larger injectors, increased compression, and more timing advance (or is it less? I'm not too technically astute)? Just wanted to share, and see what your opinions are on the matter. |
E85 is never efficient in any way, or even cost effective. It could prove beneficial in high boost turbo apps, and super high compression motors, but nothing really good for street use.

Like you mentioned, it's really only "beneficial" in boosted applications. I think you'd have too many headaches trying to get larger injectors and such to run without diving too far into the computer. Then again, you could get the ecutune chip or whatever... |
its lower combustion temp makes it beneficial to stave off heat soak in racing applications.
