IROC Auction - the auction of a lifetime
 

A friend of mine sent me this and I thought I would pass it along - surely YT can make this and perhaps others!!

Okay... Here's the auction of a lifetime. If I could make this event I
probably wouldn't tell you about it -- I'd want to keep it all for myself! As it
turns out they've changed the date and I'll be at Amelia Island and will miss it!
Crap!

IROC -- the International Race of
Champions. Some of you probably know that after 30 years, they've lost their major
sponsor -- Crown Royal -- which is now sponsoring various race teams. The loss
was so late they had no time to find and sign a new sponsor, so they're closing
shop.
On the second weekend in March they
will auction off all remaining assets, including parts, tools, and even the
cars!

I did not know until a few months ago that a major "silent" partner in IROC
is Roger Penske. Penske has already picked up the really rare IROC cars for his
museum in AZ -- so the last remaining Mark Donohue Porsche IROC and slightly
later Camaro are gone from what I've been told.

Have fun! And, bring a truck! I'll be really disappointed if a few of you
can't make it.

go down the main page, skipping the other auctions, there are 2 pages devoted
to the two-day IROC auction. Click on either one for lots of pix of the items
for sale. The full written item list is not yet up -- I check every few days
but it keeps asking me to wait a few days. However, the pix will give you a good
idea of the quality and quantity for sale... and it's a lot!

LOTS of good IROC racing footage too .........

The cars are to be sold on the second day.

Hmm, and i was hoping you were talking about the Camero. I've always wanted an IROC too...

....wonder just how cheap some of them tools will go
