How do I remove the Subaru badge on the hood?

I got one of the nice svx badges for the front but don't know how to take the old one off. I lifted the hood and unscrewed the hood release thing but there's nothing there. Should I just take a flat head wrapped in a towel and start prying it off?

i found out because mine ripped off during some *AHEM* high speed driving :)

Well it's dark now, I'll give it a try tomorrow, thanks.

A credit card or similar object would be safer... Anything plactic and wedge shaped should do. If that towel over the screwdriver tears you might scratch your baby.

This works:

When the hood release is off you can shine a flashlight into the exposed hole and you will see the three pins that are part of the original emblem. Just push on them with the back of a small screwdriver and the emblem will start to release from the hood.

Once the emblem has started to become free, either use your fingers or use some dental floss to wrap under it and pull it free.

I have also used dental floss alone under the edge of the emblem to pry it up, bypassing the first step above.

There are three pins (two with yellow grommets) The top two are the ones which actually hold the emblem, along with the adhesive layer. The third pin in the center is a guide pin so that it goes on straight and doesn't twist.

When I bought mine the previous owner had the hood emblem on upside down
