Help with diagnosis of misfire
Hi all. My baby is misfiring and seems to be running on half the cylinders.
Just started today after heavy rain. What usually causes this? Is it BAD to drive it while it's like this? I'm seeing a local mechanic ASAP |

Unplug the injectors one at a time if there is no change after unplugging one you will know that that cylinder is not firing. Once you determine which ones are not firing. I would try replacing the coil, I don't know if you have any spares or not, but if not maybe you can borrow one or purchase one of the front ones to test with. At least that is what I would do. I have had 2 go bad within the last few years.

Would seem to suggest a moisture related short ( assuming you drove in the rain), possibly at the area where the 3 coil connectors come off the rear ends of the valve covers. Do you have the splash shield in place? Take a hair dryer to those areas and give them a good warm blow dry ! at least to give give the easy fix a try. |
