Colorado Area Meet

Calling all Coloradans...any anyone else interested in making the trip here....

Myself and sk8ting19 are going to be setting up a small meet in the next few weeks. Not 100% sure on the full plans for the day, however we are probably going to be taking them down to one of the local tracks (chances are Bandimere Speedway, rather than Second Creek Raceway, or Pikes Peak Int. Raceway) for a little drag racing. If anyone knows if Second Creek or PPIR is open for full track racing....that would be MUCH more fun.

How interesting would that be having 5-10 SVXer's cruising around the track at 100+mph while adjusting the power leather seats so they have just the right seating position. :D

Nevermore,

Gee, I wonder how many hours it takes to drive from Wilmington, DE to the Coors Brewery in Golden, Colorado.:p

Larry III:cool:

PS: Are you an E. A. Poe fan ?

nvrmore100 08-01-2001 10:08 PM

Mmmmm coors. Good idea, I think I'll take a trip out to Golden this weekend. :)

Not much of a fan, I really like the Raven, and I always got called "Raven" (you know stupid teenager name) so Nevermore fit well. Most people don't pick up on it though. :)

Ryan,

Coors sounds like a good meeting place to me.

I may have another person to come...

I left a note on a pearl SVX by my work today...hopefully he will respond.

Silver SVX

Ryan

I put a note on a silver SVX outside of Dennys the other night, but have not heard anything yet. I can't wait to run them on the track. However the car sounds like $hit right now, so went down to JCS and they put her up on the lift, and after messing around with it for a while, found that my cat has gone bad. damn.

Oh and I checked for you on the 2.5RS hood. The parts are pretty cheap around $150-$200 but to make it look good your looking at $1200+ in bodywork. Anyways that that info I got for ya. Well I am going to put a post up over at JCS for anyone with an SVX to see if I can't find a few more will keep you posted.

Yikes! I wonder why to cost went up so much. Originally he quoted me about $200 for the parts, and another $300-$400 MAX to put them in and repaint the hood. Hmm, $1500 is too much for me, especially for that. :(

Oh well...Aug/08/2001 Aug/15/2001 aren't very good for me, like you I need to fix my car before I really want to take it out racing. I'll be driving up to Calgary again on Sep/12/2001 so that is no good either. The rest of the days sounds good to me though.

I had no idea there was an import drag race that was help here. Awesome. Is it open to everyone, or just the EXTREME 11 second Civics and crap like that? If it's open I think this would be a great opportunity to show the unique styling of our cars off.

Let me know what you think,
Ryan

sk8ing19 08-04-2001 01:45 PM

Ryan,

Who did you talk to down there? I talked to some guy I had never meet before, he is a pretty cool guy but does not know much about the SVX. I will try to talk to Joel for you, and see what he has to say.

Drags:
The drags are open to everyone, and I think our cars have a good chance. Its not untill Oct so I should have the pulleys and some other work done by then. If the car is in shape I will be there for the import drags.

Lets see if we can meet on the last wensday of the month, if that works for you. Let me know.

Got another guy!

Someone from Littleton (right near Columbine HS) responded to my post on yahoo. He would be happy to join up with some more SVXers as he just moved from NewYork.

His name is Chad...here is the end of his last email to me...

Here's a little background on the car...it's a 92 with about 93,000 miles on it now. Everything is stock on it. It's in pretty nice shape, but has some road rash from parking lots and things...most of that is from before I bought it (about 2 years ago).

The last wednesday sounds good to me. August 29'th just to make sure we have it correct. Seem's to me that bandimere is $25 for a few runs and tech inspection.

Talk to you soon,
Ryan

sk8ing19 08-06-2001 01:34 PM

Ryan,

So did you send him our way (subaru-svx.net)? Well keep me posted.

The 29th looks good and it is only 25 for test and tune. well have to get back to work here.

Hmmmm. <the wheels begin to turn. Mapblast says Denver's a mere 15 hours away. The 30th is my birthday. Aredub wonders if that's a good enough excuse to drive to CO. -- the temptation is wrenching> :D

sk8ing19 08-06-2001 04:15 PM

Randy

Come on down and join the fun. I see no reason why not to. A good little race at 5,500 feet plus your Birthday. Could you imagine A bunch of SVX's pulling up to Bandimer raceway in Denver and smoking all the little hondas. It shall be fun.

nvrmore100 08-06-2001 04:38 PM

Hhaa there is a coincedance....

That guy Chad I have been talking to is having his B-day on the 29th....the day we are going!

Tell you what Aredub....you get your butt down here...I will even spring for a B-day dinner for ya. :D

Ryan

sk8ing19 08-06-2001 04:43 PM
