Code 12??
 

Started the car from a really long sleep. Getting a code 12 from the check engine light. Tried to clear it and no go.

So...it has something to do with the ignition switch? Or abnormal start or something?

I would also like to know the answer to this. I have had this code for a long time. I replaced the ignition switch but the code comes back.

Code 12 points towards the starter switch.

I think it means something in the circuit is going out, there is the actual ignition switch a relay for the alarm as well as a few other things, if you run the relay at the starter as documented

I have no starter issue. I have the relay mode, new ignition switch and a new relay under the column. This code comes and goes maybe twice a year. I was just curious.
