That looks really nice John. I sincerely hope that Zymbol detailer works better than their wax. It looks like it does.

She sure is looking good. Does the detailer just spray on and you wipe it off? How do you apply it? :)

JLittell 08-10-2003 09:17 PM

It comes in a spray bottle. You spray on and wipe off after 10 seconds.

It's basically a quick detailer, most companies make them now. It's for wiping down the car after a drive or something. Also...the Califonia Car Duster is awesome for this job too. What I do is use the CCD, and then QD (quick detail - Meguiar's), and it returns the car to how it was before i went out. :D

JLittell 08-10-2003 10:23 PM

Well, I've used several wipe off type of detailers and waxes. This Zymol Detailer is quite different. I seems to get out the deep water spots too!

Bwana 08-10-2003 10:53 PM

It more then likely just covers them up, i'll go ask my detailing buddies, but i believe it contains a small bit of wax, which is why you see such a difference.

I have wondered if that does a good job, or scratch the paint. Is it much difference than a fuzzy cloth? I have seen them, but never used them. :)

First off...yes the CCD is amazing, the fibers are coated with wax, and the dust sticks to the fibers and lifts it up, instead of just dragging it across the paint and marring. After every "swoop", just hit it on the palm of your hand, and the dust will fly out, and you can do another "swoop" :p ;) Extremely good for dry climates where your car gets dusty very quick, and you dont have time/dont want to wash it.

As for the Zymol: Here's what i found.

Quote:

1. Spray a moderate mist of Detail Spray over a three to four square foot area. Let stand for approximately 30 seconds.

2. Applying minimal pressure, wipe with a clean zymöl or other terrycloth towel, using straight strokes that follow the body lines of the car.

3. For spot-cleaning a vehicle, spray Detail Spray directly onto a folded zymöl Micro-Wipe™, let stand for 30 - 45 seconds then very gently wipe over the soil, smudges or fingerprints until the surface is clean.

Contains Carnauba Sap 10.5%, Triple Purified Spring Water, Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil, Cetyl Esters, Cetyl Cocoamide (derived from coconut oil), Propolis (derived from Bees) Glycerol Stearate and Banana Oil.
Also, there seems to be a lot of complaining of "hazing" when the paint gets warm, keep an eye on that if you get it in the sun. The way to get that off would be to use a higher quality QD :P

Also, here's a picture of what seems to be the general opinion on the stuff. (there are a few people who like it atleast...one guy said it's awesome for interior, as it leaves a matte finish that lasts a long time.)

Opinion of Zymol Detailer
