Svx rotor type?
Hey all... We're using the hub tamer this week (its the big week). All my stuff is pretty much going in, the springs, struts, wheel bearings, bushings, minus the rear struts and springs.
We've never used the hub tamer before, but we need to know if the svx has a trapped rotor or a floating rotor because the instructions are different for each of them.... Help! |
Brake rotor will come right off once the caliper is out of the way.(I hope thats what your asking about)

The main thing to pay attention to when pressing bearings is: "Where is the pressure being applied?" Never arrange the tool/parts so that pressure is applied, directly or indirectly, through the bearing. In other words don't press the hub into the inner race when the opposite side of the press is supporting the outer race. This places the pressure on the rollers and the load faces of the races. (ditto for installing the outer race into the knuckle, don't install it by pressing on the inner race.) Take your time to understand these instructions, it would suck to spend all the time and money and then have a failure, having to repeat it all over again.

The thing is that the Hub Tamer has different directions depending on if the car has a floating rotor design or trapped rotor design.
Does anyone know which one the SVX has? |
