full tank mileage?
 

Hi
how many miles can you guys go with a full tank before filling up again?
My fuel gauge is crap, and I rely on once a day readings when it decides to work..

anywhere between 300 and 370 miles

in only city driving, may be as low as around 250-300, however if it is running properly, if you are doing highway driving, it is more than possible to get over 400 miles on a tank.
The SVX has a very pessimistic gas tank. I know on mine, when it hits the line for "E", I have about 4 gallons left.

I hit E at around 6 gallons left. Even after a couple tanks of Techron treatment. I just feel happy at the pump when I'm putting in 12 gallons.

Heck, my fuel light even sometimes comes on with 5-6 gallons left in the tank. Then it goes off...usually.

Generally, I average between 18-21 MPG around town and about 26-29mpg on the highway.

I fill up around 360 miles.

My light comes on with 2L, or just over 1/2 a gallon, left in the tank.

wow your gauge is way off. Mine come on around 340-360.

Mine varies but usually comes on between 300-325. Its come on as early as 250 though. The lowest I ever ran it the gauge was almost completely past the E, and when I filled it I think I had a little over 2 gallons left.

I put 18.1 gallons in once. I drove about 55 miles in the city once the check engine light came on solid.

Based on my experience, and many of these "fuel mileage" threads, it's safe to say that, if you aren't getting at least 17 MPG in town and 25 on the road, something's wrong with your car (or you're driving it so hard there will be soon).

I fill up every 300 miles. Once I fill up, I check my mileage, divide it by the amount of gas pumped and get my average MPG. This way you can get an idea of how well your SVX is running. There should be at least 2 gallons remaining when the light comes on.

I ususally get 18 or so in town, 21-22 on the freeway, I wish I could get 350-400 miles to a tank! I've gone over 300 only a few times since I bought the car. I wish I knew why it doesn't get better mileage...
