grinding

theres this weird noise that i just cant figure out yet what it is. it almost sounds like somethings grinding and i already checked my rotors to see if the brake pads are rubbing and there not. the weird thing is that it only makes the grinding noise when i press on the gas..what could be the problem?

Yes, I get the same thing, it's not overly loud, it happens when i press the gas off the lights, I was thinking it happens when power is transferred to the rear wheels? Please help

the noise really isnt loud but its really annoying and the only thing that i got done to it thats under the hood is that i got a new power stearing pump

does the noise happen at all when you are not moving?? Ex. if you rev the engine in park??

Does the sound increase with speed??

nah it never happens when stationary or revving in park
It feels like it makes the noise when you're putting torque or any load from the drivetrain to the back wheels when you give it some gas in drive, like when you hit the gas on take off. it sounds like it's coming from somewhere between the 2 passenger seats under the car??

yeah, best thing to do is to climb under it and make nothing is rubbing up against the drioveshaft.

i checked that and its still making that same noise :( and could the problem that could be making that noise also be caused that i use unleaded gas instead premium because when i bought the car the guy said that he put in unleaded gas in and i have since but i finally relized that it uses premium

Did you check your rack and pinion assembly? I have a similar issue with mine and the only thing out of the ordinary is that I need to replace my r & p. I should have it installed by the weekend so I'll let you know if that fixed the problem.

sweet, would be great to let us know how it all goes.
