K&n Hp-4001
Has anyone tried this oil filter? It cross references with the Purolator 30165 which is supposedly compatible with the SVX.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...4766&viewitem= It is a larger filter so it should have a higher capacity and lower flow restriction. Not sure if that matters unless one is doing some cleaning using either HM oil or an oil additive. |

Try finding a filter compatible with the Porsche 944. Same thread and seal configuration. I think OT discovered they fit. Anyways, it holds more oil as well.

Re: K&n Hp-4001
Here's an interesting page I found on oil filter reviews.
http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/oil.../opinions.html Look around there a bit, but it is an interesting read. The first list of filters at the top of the page are recommended ones, and the ones near the bottom are the ones he doesn't recommend. I love that fram is on the bottom, because I've been telling people for years that they are garbage. haha Anyways, I've always preferred the NAPA filters. Why? For me... 1. easy to get at local napa 2. cheap on my shop account 3. solid reputation as they are made by Wix (the Dana Corporation) I've got a case of NAPA 1287's in my garage right now. Originally for the Porsche 944, but works just fine with our motor. NAPA was having a filter sale, so I bought a case of 12 for 40% off. I figured that wasn't too bad since this filter can be used on all 3 of my cars. |
