Re: coilovers questions

As far as I know I'm the only disappointed svxer with the koni/gc setup. Many members love their setup. For me its just to harsh. I have 425 in the front and 385 in the rear I believe. I may reach out to gc and see what other options there are.

Re: coilovers questions

Your springs rates are your problem, not the brand. The Shadow Machine's suspension has 450/385, and is very firm! I had 385/315 in the Pearly, and those seemed to be a good balance between sport and street.

Huh. These could be a godsend to the XT6 community, if they still exist much.

I'm very interested to see how this Taiwanese product turns out.

Re: coilovers questions

^ I have an extra set of 375/300 (ish, not 100% sure on the exact numbers) in case I get tired of the stiff 450/375. Which is pretty stiff, no wonder it's bothering you. GC should have many options, but you will probably have to call them, I emailed them in the past and didn't get a response. Keep them porportional front/rear and you can make them whatever spring rate you want. Stock IIRC is ~160/100.

I have a brand new set of 375/325 GC's if anyone is interested ($200.00). My son sweet talked me and then I realized this car is only going to be a street cruiser. (A fool and his money is soon departed, or something something.):o

+1 to what Rob says. When you're running springs in the 400 lbs/in neighbourhood you're going to get an extremely solid ride, regardless of what dampers you've got. My Stance coils are ~450/335, and could officially be called teeth rattling. Fortunately the SVX is not the daily driver, so firm suspension is liveable. If you want examples of what a more comfort oriented system looks like, take a look at the rate that "sport springs" typically run. More in the mid/high-200 range, far short of the rates many people have with coilovers.

I was asked what comes with the GC Springs so I though I would post this:

Hey gene.
I am interested in the gc coilovers.
But first I was wondering where the heck I get the konis?
And the konis I get I want to make sure that the lifetime warranty will be in effect for me.
Any suggestions or help would be awesome.
Steve

Call and make sure they still have some before you order. And ask how many sets are left, and what happens with the lifetime warranty when there are no more sets left.

Like icingdeath88 said regarding the Koni's.
I still have the GC springs. Also the Mychailo custom strut mounts.

At least one set I suppose...

I'm waiting to see what comes of all the various coilover projects currently brewing..
