OBD-I engine into OBD-II car
I'm at a point with my SVX that i'm looking to replace my engine. I need to know what has to be done to put an OBD-I EG33 into my OBD-II '96. This would open up a lot more possibilities for me. For those of you interested in such things, I got 287,000mi out of the engine before it most likeley spun a bearing. It has a really bad deep down knock in it. I'm going to replace it for the time being, so I can continue to drive it.
I intend to do a long, slow build of the original engine. I'm going to be following this pattern. http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50837 Drawing back in areas to allow use of the stock ECU/harness. The SVX has plenty of power, but I'd like to be quicker than a current accord, or camry LOL I'm also looking into a paddle shift setup for my 4EAT:cool: Other mods are some Nissan Maxima 18" wheels, repainting the faux wood piano black, and chroming the switchgear on the dash. Just swap over intake manifolds and upper engine harness and you'll be good to go.:)
Also, you do know ECUtune software doesn't work with OBDII SVX, right? |

I swapped the engine and tranny from my wrecked 96 OBDII into a 94 OBDI, and just swapped the intakes, and it was good to go as Nate said;)
