Gas Prices

Hi everyone. Well, at least in SE Michigan, OPEC is giving us a Christmas present. Regular unleaded was selling for from the mid $1.80s to $2.00 a gallon over the last month or so. Now in the last day or two the gallon is down to $1.58 to $180. If it would keep going down and/or stay down I would be a cappy hamper[thanks Randy] Opec voted to cut crude production by 1000000.00 barrels a day effective 1/1/05. Its always something!. Hey everyone, what ever your going to celebrate, enjoy yourself and do it safely. I for one don't want to hear some sad story about what happened after Christmas or New Years. Take care, BOBB

i paid $1.909 / gallon for 91 octane premium fuel this evening. lowest price in over 3 months. :)

MNYPNNY 12-10-2004 09:52 PM

:( $2.12 for 91 over here :(

SSSVX 12-11-2004 01:58 AM

tonight, the premium 93 here is drop to 1.95/gallon from 1.97/gallon. yeah, keep dropping...the regular 87 is 1.75/gallon. compare to last few months' 87 like 1.99/gallon and premium 93 like 2.19/gallon, it could probably save me about 20 bucks a month. :D

2.39 for 93 over here. We dont get 91....the lowest we get is Getty's 92 octane. I always go with 93 octane from shell.

I still think gas is reasonably priced when compared to 8 oz of Starbucks coffee or a 16 oz bottle of "designer" water. Heck, a gallon of milk is almost twice the cost of a gallon of gas, and have you ever tried to run your car on milk? Not so good:)

That's true. I read that Folgers is going to increase coffee prices by 11% and they're seen as the market leaders, so the other companies are expected to follow suit.

Around here, it's still 2.13/gallon for 93.

Full serve is them filling the gas for you. We have self serve and full serve.

Gas was 83.9 cents a liter here for the longest time. Even with the CAD gaining on the USD the prices did not change.

Only now has the price started to go down. Too bad it's only 1cent at a time. We are down to 79.9 now.

They sure are reluctant to lower prices but don't hesitate to raise prices by 5 cents at a time.

Ok, but what does that have to do with the price of Gold?

Or, another way to look at it is - how many gallons of milk do you go through a week, or how many gallons of coffee do you need per week to get to work. :)

I see your point. And you are right. I do use more gas than milk or coffee. But I'm looking at it from a cost-per-unit stand point. For $2.00 you can get a whole gallon of gas, or 1/3 cup of "Premium" coffee. That makes gas seem pretty cheap!

This is exactly what has happened in Beaufort, SC... However, I don't really look at Premium anymore. I look at Diesel, which is still $1.99... That's better than the $2.22 that is was for a while :):)
