1996 SVX Power Steering-vs- Philadelphia Pothole

1 Attachment(s)
Hit a SERIOUS pothole in Philly last week.

Today, I was underneath my SVX troubleshooting an oil leak (mmmm, synthetic) and saw that one of my PS lines is 90% crushed. It is not leaking (that's mobil 1 in the pic) but I want to replace it.

My SVX parts list hasn't helped me ID it. I'm thinking it's a 34153PA0??.

Any help on the # would be MOST appreciated!

Been there, cannot quite figure out which line it is!

Wynndi,

Been working in center city Phil since 1973. You just have to love what cobblestone streets, trolley tracks. and crater-like potholes can do to a front suspension...NOT .

I'm guessing it's the 020 pipe. The 030 pipe appears to be shorter and ends at the center of the rack.

Without me running out and crawling under the car, is it possible that the tube in question runs from the bellows on one side to the bellows on the other side? If so, it's doubtful that you'll find a part number for that tube - it's just an equalization tube for the air in the bellows to escape from one side and into the other when turning left to right (or vice-versa.) One can be fabricated from bulk steel tubing available at most any parts store or even easier would be to just use regular neoprene tubing and a couple nipples. If you find p/s fluid in this tube it's not a good sign, it means the end seals of the rack are leaking.

This may be the diagram you want:
