Tribeca AWD specs

We received our first Tribeca late last week (a white one, 7 passenger w/ GPS nav). Earlier today we received a CDrom with all of the official specs of the Tribeca. In the AWD section it mentions that the Tribeca is set up for an AWD front/rear distribution of 45.7 - 54.3. It also mentions that the rear diff is not limited slip. Final drive is 3.583. Thought some of you would find that interesting.

Thanks, Dave. White, huh? Several years ago I heard that white was the most popular color for new cars - is that still the case? (If it ever was for Subaru buyers.)

The rear diff also has its own temperature sensor with a high temp warning light on the dash. I'm guessing they needed this because of the towing limit of 3,500 lbs.

You would be amazed at the number of white Outbacks that we service.....they seem to be everywhere!

I dunno I just hate the way the tribeca looks. And apparently its the future of what other subaru models are going to look like

I agree, I am not a fan of the new look. Those pictures/drawings of new WRX/Imprezza models are not cool either, in my opinion. But, 5700 pounds? That's huge! That makes our 3600 pound SVX's seem like nothing. Even the Lincoln LS is 4700 pounds (gross I think). What's going on here?

That's 5,700 lbs. maximum weight, not empty weight.

That's weird - I almost never see white Subarus.

I usually see that dark green color. Thats usually the color of the Subaru's here.

That's the closest thing to the new SVX I think we'll ever see. It also doesn't seem to offer a 5/6spd MT.

Maybe it's a North East thing.......we seem to be swimming in white Subaru's, esp Outbacks.

It looks a lot like a Nissan Murano, and for some reason it reminds me of a mini-van (a really weird mini-van). Either way I can't picture it with a manual tranny.

The top selling color for new automobiles since 2000 is silver with white in second place. White always did well because of fleet sales and cargo vans and pick-ups since they can be more easily modded with company paint schemes.
