How to remove door panels
It is time to upgrade my speakers in my svx, while the backs are tedious i can get to those, however i cannot figure out how to get the door panels off for the fronts. All i see are the two screws by the window controls and then some clips that come off, but dont allow me to get the panel off, If anyone knows what im missing please let me know: )

pull the screws, pop the clips and pull the panel up, out of the window frame. mind the wires.

Re: How to remove door panels
There are two screws inside the armrest (beneath the felt lining), two screws along the leading edge of the door panel, and one screw beneath the little plastic woodgrain pop-off cover right below the door handle. Pull the panel loose from the bottom, then lift.

Re: How to remove door panels
Removing the door panel is easy. There are only 5 screws to remove.
Open the door and take out the 2 screws on the front edge of the door panel, near the door hinge. There is another screw located under the door handle, hidden behind the plastic plate which justs pops out with a small-bladed screwdriver (preferably magnetic) There are also 2 more screws hidden under the felt mat inside the door armrest. Just peel it away to expose the screws, These are the most important ones as they hold the entire armrest to the door frame. You cannot remove the panel with these screws in place. Once all screws are removed, just pop the clips around the bottom of the door panel by pulling gently. Once free, lift the entire panel up slightly and pull away from the door frame to see the wiring. There are 2 electrical connectors that must be disconnected; one is for the power window switch cluster and one is for the door courtesy light. Replacement is the reverse order. The only possible minor hassle is lining up the door lock button to slide into the door panel opening, but usually it is not a problem. Everything will line back up perfectly. . |
